Quran Khatam for the Deceased

When someone we love returns to Allah, many families gather to recite the Quran and make dua for them, asking Allah to forgive them and have mercy on them. In South Asia this is often called Esal-e-Sawab or Quran Khwani.

Here you can start a khatam in their name and share one link with relatives and friends anywhere in the world. Each person takes a Juz or a quarter, recites it, and marks it complete, so the whole Quran is finished together.

How it works

  1. Create a khatam and add the name of the person you are reciting for.
  2. Share the link on WhatsApp with family and friends.
  3. Everyone takes a portion, recites it and marks it complete.

Good to know

  • Add a short dua or message that everyone will see.
  • Set a finish-by date, for example before the third or fortieth day.
  • Choose how many khatams you want to complete, or keep going.
